LANGLEY (NEWS 1130) – As the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team asks for the public’s help to solve the agency’s latest homicide, it is releasing more details.

IHIT is confirming 31-year-old Amanjot Singh Hans of Surrey was the man who was shot and killed in the parking lot of a gas station in Langley on Tuesday night.

“Investigators are still seeking dash cam video from drivers who were travelling along 72 Avenue between 232 Street and Highway 10 at around 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the evening of May 15, 2018,” says Corporal Frank Jang.

Police are also looking to speak to anyone who has information about a dark-coloured Dodge pick-up truck that was found burning around 196 Street just off the Fraser Highway about 20 minutes after the shooting.

“We are releasing Mr. Hans’ name in an effort to determine his activities and who he may have had contact with prior to his death,” adds Jang. “We urge anyone with information to please come forward.”

The motive for the shooting is still being investigated.

Anyone with information is asked to call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551- IHIT (4448), by email or call CrimeStoppers at 1.800.222.TIPS (8477.)
