RCMP warning public following Surrey sex assault

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – Surrey RCMP are warning the public following a sexual assault yesterday afternoon.

Investigators say around the dinner hour, a man climbed into a car parked at Tannery Park while a woman was sleeping inside. The man, thought to be in his 50s or 60s, assaulted the sleeping woman.

“The woman was able to honk her horn, which cause the male to flee in his vehicle,” says Corporal Elenore Sturko adding his getaway car is a red older-model vehicle.

The suspect is described as white with a medium build. He is balding and has white hair that curls at the ends and patchy facial stubble.

“This is obviously an upsetting incident and we’re hoping we’re hoping we can have someone come forward to assist us in this investigation and providing information.”

It comes just a day after another sexual assault in Surrey where a man groped a woman.

If you have any information, call Surrey RCMP.
