Unsung Hero: Longtime Ski Patrol volunteer dedicates time to helping others

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Congratulations to our Unsung Hero, Bruce Hurst. He was nominated for the award by Barbara Hurst. Take a look at his story.

Bruce’s commitment to helping others is unwavering. He has volunteered for over 30 years with Grouse Mountain’s First Aid Ski Patrol in various capacities such as President, Treasurer, etc. in addition to being a patroller.

He has, and continues to, participate on numerous committees and boards throughout his life as an accountant both within the association (including being Chair of CGA Association in 2011) and outside on various strata councils and boards.

It is important to him to help others and be fair (taking personal time to help assist some elderly clients and friends to ensure their health and well-being — where needed — are taken care of).

All in all, Bruce is good guy who likes to help others and make a positive difference too many.

Alpine Credits is acknowledging Bruce with $500 to say thanks for stepping up and they’re also making a $1,000 donation to the Ronald McDonald House Children’s Charity.
