Delta house destroyed in suspected arson

DELTA (NEWS 1130) – One man has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a home went up in flames on Tsawwassen First Nations land.
Delta police say they were called to a house in the area of Eagle Way and Tsawwassen Drive around 6:45 p.m. on Sunday. When crews arrived, they witnessed a home completely engulfed in flames.
The house was completely destroyed but investigators say no one was hurt. “The homeowner was away at the time of the fire,” a release reads.
While on scene, police say they took a man into custody. This man was later arrested on suspicion of arson.
Charges have been recommended, and are pending Crown’s consideration.
