Amelia John
Evening Anchor
You can listen to Amelia every Monday through Friday on the News1130 Evening Show with Ben Wilson.
She first came to News1130 as an Intern in January 2010 and reported during the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. She was hired a couple of months later and worked as an overnight/weekend anchor and editor before joining the Evening Show in 2011. Amelia holds a degree from BCIT in Broadcast Journalism and a certificate in Film Studies from Capilano University. Before going back to school to study journalism, she was an employment consultant for several years with one of the top agencies in Vancouver.
When she’s not at the anchor desk, she’s either at the gym taking a yoga class or exploring the city. Amelia is originally from the Kootenays and lives in the West End with her cat, Buddha.
