Her husband convicted of selling marijuana seeds in US

OAKLAND, CA. (NEWS1130) - On Tuesday, people in California will vote on Proposition 19, a law that promises to legalize marijuana.  News1130 spoke with one of BC's high-profile pot activists who is in California trying to get people to vote yes.

Jodie Emery is making speeches and working the phones to encourage people to cast a ballot.

She's expecting the vote to be close but says there's reason for "Team Yes" to be optimistic.  "There's a lot of enthusiasm throughout California for this proposition.  They have an enormous organizational team of volunteers and hired professionals."

Her husband Marc Emery, who was convicted of selling marijuana seeds in the US, is being transferred from Nevada to a California prison this week.

Jodie says it's ironic he'll be serving his five-year federal prison time in a state where pot may be legalized.
