Dianne Watts to decide soon if she'll run for party leader

Surrey mayor says she needs time to think

Dave White Nov 10, 2010 15:41:12 PM
SURREY (NEWS1130) - The mayor of Surrey will let the public know early next week whether she'll run for leader of the BC Liberals.

Dianne Watts says she needs time to think. "I really am flattered with all the calls I've gotten, all the emails, and everything. It's just taking a step back and really evaluating the landscape, evaluating the impact it has on your life, and moving on from there."

Watts says she's not sure whether she's ready to try something else, but recognizes her popularity.

She hasn't set a firm date to make the decision public, but confirms she'll hold a press conference after the weekend.
