VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Several folks may be waking up Friday morning realizing they overdid it on New Year's Eve. So how about some tips on keeping that head splitting and stomach churning hangover to a minimum...
Hangovers.ca
claims different drinks will give you different hangovers. Mainly because every type of alcohol contains different amounts of congeners - a by product formed during the fermentation process, which determines the flavour and colour of the drink. It's also a type of toxin that can make you hungover.
Cheap booze tends to have more of these impurities so if you want to avoid a hangover, limit the amount of inexpensive coolers, champagne and that box of red wine in your fridge.
Not drinking on an empty stomach, staying hydrated, getting a good night's sleep and maybe taking an Advil could help your chances in starting the year off right. Exercise will also help to ride your body of toxins.
