Best and worst video games of all time on display in Surrey

Including the infamous "ET for Atari"

SURREY (NEWS1130) - It's your chance to play the worst video game of all time, and some good ones, too. Games from the 70's and 80's will be open for everyone at the Surrey Museum next Saturday.

Most of the games are fun, but exhibit curator Ryan Cousineau says one of them has quite a reputation and its name is -- ET for Atari. "It's quite horrible and disappointing."

So bad that throwing them away wasn't good enough. "They sold a lot of them, but they made many more, and as the story goes, they had to take back a ton of these and, I think, they were eventually buried in a landfill."

But that's just one of the games that are on display. There are some good ones, too. "There's a lot more good games than bad. And one of the real treats with having this exhibit already is, I think, exposing a lot of kids to some of these early games."

Play Day is from 1:30 to 4:30 next Saturday at the Museum. Admission is by donation.
