Rally in support of 100 dogs slaughtered in Whistler

"Barking Mad" event in West Vancouver this weekend

WEST VANCOUVER (NEW1130) - It's meant to show the world they are "Barking Mad."

Local blogger Catherine Barr came up with the idea for a Meet Up-Tweet Up to show support for the dogs killed by an outdoor adventure company near Whistler. "We all get together and say 'We want changes to happen. We want to collect donations, and we want to throw our support behind those who need it right now to make sure something like this doesn't ever happen, ever again."

She says, "We're saying we're mad, we're angry. But we're going to take all these feelings... and instead of writing hate mail, we're going to put this into some positive output and energy."

Barr is encouraging everyone going to the "Barking Mad" rally to wear red. The event is being held on Sunday at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver from noon to 2 p.m.
