RICHMOND (NEWS1130) -
Fight fans don't have to wait until the UFC hits G.M.
Place in June to get their Mixed Martial Arts fix.
MMA at the Rock was staged Saturday at the River Rock Casino in Richmond.
West Coast Promotions head, Manny Sobral, says it's a first for the Lower Mainland. "It's the first MMA show that's going to be competed in a cage, an actual MMA cage, and that's very unique to the Lower Mainland. We've got ten great fights lined up and it looks like it's going to be an awesome night of entertainment."
The main event features a local Jiu Jitsu fighter taking on a local kickboxer. It is an amateur event which means two five minute rounds.
