VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - There is leaking sewage, poor heating, and even a shortage of flooring. Those are some of the claims the City of Vancouver is fighting in a lawsuit, filed by buyers at the former Olympic Village.
The city plans to vigorously fight the suit. It calls claims of poor quality completely bogus. The receiver says problems with new developments are normal, and seven crews are working to fix them.
Ernst & Young says a 24-hour hotline (604-566-9955) is open if owners or renters need to report problems, but there has been a 60 per cent drop in calls about deficiencies since January. Half of the fixer-uppers on the company's to-do list have been completed.
On Friday, Vancouver said it's on track to recover most of what was feared lost in the Millennium loan agreement.
