Is the Olympic cauldron a jinx?

Don't want to jinx the Canucks

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Let's not jinx them! Some people are worried that if we light the Olympic cauldron again for Game 4, we may have a result similar to that of Monday.

We took to the streets of Vancouver and rounded up some folks decked out in jerseys. Some folks say 'why risk it?'

"If there is any doubt, don't do it," says one fan.

"Leave it as is don't jinx it," says another. "Don't light it!"

Then there are the fans taking the-beer-is-half-full-approach:

"The Canucks will come back, they'll re-group," says one woman. "They usually have a bad first game away from home ice... They will come back tonight... I'm not really superstitious."

"I think they should light it," another fan tells us. "We are going to win the cup this year so they might as well light it up now!"

The Olympic flame costs roughly $1,250 an hour. Fortis is covering the costs of the game day burning.
