Olympic torch arrives in New Westminster

NEW WESTMINSTER (NEWS1130) - The Olympic torch has arrived in the Royal City, and thousands of people have gathered at Queen's Park to cheer it on, and show their Canadian spirit.
Everyone is dressed for the occasion, making it a sea of red clothes and red and white Canadian flags. People in New Westminster appear to be warmed by Olympic spirit...with help from the sun, which has made a much-welcomed appearance. Many in the crowd said they just wanted a glimpse of the torch passing by.
After the noon-hour celebration in New West, the torch is heading south and west, through Delta, Ladner and into Tsawwassen, before its final Tuesday destination--Richmond, for a triumphant visit at the Richmond "O-Zone" this evening.
