Bad boss ordered to appear in court

Surrey construction workers complain they were forced to work in unsafe conditions

Jesse Johnston Oct 19, 2011 18:28:35 PM
SURREY (NEWS1130) - BC's Court of Appeal is ordering an arrest warrant for a man accused of exposing his workers to asbestos without protection. Arthur Moore being ordered to appear before the BC Supreme Court to answer to these charges.

Back in August, Moore was ordered to stop doing drywall removal after several employees complained about unsafe work conditions.

They told Worksafe BC they weren't given proper safety training or equipment. Two of them claim Moore told them to run away if they saw a Worksafe BC officer at a job site.

BC's high court says Moore is in contempt of that Worksafe BC order. In a scathing ruling, Justice Ian Donald says Moore poses a significant public safety concern.
