Lower Mainland Remembrance Day ceremonies

Observe a moment of silence at 11 a.m. on Friday

LOWER MAINLAND (NEWS1130) - On Friday, November 11th, we will observe a moment of silence at 11 a.m. to remember Canadian fallen soldiers.

There are ceremonies happening across the country. Here's a list of Remembrance Day events happening in the Lower Mainland:

Vancouver:
Ceremony at the cenotaph in Victory Square (West Hastings and Cambie) starting at 10:30 a.m. The Vancouver cauldron at Jack Pool Plaza will be lit at 8 a.m., and will be extinguished at 11:02 a.m.

Burnaby:
Parade at 10:30 a.m. from Safeway parking lot (4440 Hastings Street) to Confederation Park Cenotaph. Ceremony begins at 10:45 a.m.
Parade at 10:30 a.m. from Royal Canadian Legion #83 (Grimmer Street) to Bonsor Park Cenotaph. Ceremony begins at 10:45 a.m.

North Vancouver:
Parade begins at 10:30 a.m., at the North Vancouver Cenotaph in Victoria Park . Open house to follow at the 6 Engineer Squadron.

West Vancouver:
Parade leaves from 18th Street and Marine Drive at 10:50 a.m..Service to be held at 11 a.m. at the Memorial Arch (1900 Marine Dr).

New Westminster:
Ceremony at 10 a.m. at the Royal Westminster Regiment Armoury. Overflow seating at Queens Avenue United Church. Following the ceremony there will be a parade to the City Hall Cenotaph for the two minute's silence at 11 a.m.

Richmond:
Ceremony at the Richmond City Hall cenotaph on No 3 Road at 10:40 a.m. A parade will then go along Granville Ave., to the Richmond School Board offices.

Surrey:
Ceremony at the cenotaph by the Surrey Museum will take place 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Langley:
Parade starts at 10:25 a.m. at the Legion Branch 21 on 56th Ave. between Logan and Glover, and will march to the new Douglas Park Cenotaph for an 11 a.m. ceremony.

Coquitlam:
Parade from Como Lake Middle School to Coquitlam's Cenotaph on Veterans Way. Ceremony at cenotaph begins at 11 a.m. At 11:30 a.m., a parade will leave the cenotaph to the Legion Hall on Nelson and Ridgeway

Port Coquitlam:
Early service at the Wilson Centre at 9:30 a.m. There will then be a parade to the cenotaph at Veteran's Park in front of city hall for an 11 a.m. ceremony.

South Delta (Ladner):

Parade from Royal Canadian Legion Branch 61 (4896 Delta St.) starting 10:20 a.m. to the Cenotaph at Ladner Memorial Park. Ceremony to follow at 10:45 a.m.

Maple Ridge:
Parade starts at 10:30 a.m. from the Legion to the cenotaph in Memorial Peace Park for the 11 a.m. ceremony.
