VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - You've heard of hot dog, chili, and pie-eating contests, but have you ever heard of a cupcake eating contest?  A Vancouver competition is showcasing the delectable treat this weekend.

They're sweet, moist and covered in icing and so tasty you could eat one or 17.

Connie Mar with the Baker's Market says that's how many last years winner downed at the annual cupcake eating contest.

She says you need more than just skill and talent to succeed.  "Everybody smiles when you see a cupcake.  [And] like everything, it's practice, practice, practice so if you want start now then that's a great time to start at home."

Contestants have five minutes to eat the full sized cupcakes.  Organizers also provide bottles of water to participants get it down.
