Capt. Greg Clark with the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre says the man went missing at 5:15 p.m.

"We received a call from a diver saying that they lost contact with their diving partner at about 150 feet depth off of Wytecliff Park," he tells News1130.

They had two Coast Guard vessels on scene and a dive team in the water. They also had an Air Force helicopter form Comox assisting in the surface search and providing some illumination for the vessels.

The missing diver has been identified as a male in his sixties who resides in the Lower Mainland. The male’s family has been notified.
