Police searching for two men in connection with the Thursday attack

Brock Hunter Feb 04, 2012 17:08:49 PM
ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) - The 19-year-old was walking alone in downtown Abbotsford when two men in a truck grabbed her and drove to an abandoned parking lot, where she was sexually assaulted.

Cst. Ian MacDonald says the next day she came to police, with a solid re-telling of what happened. "Severely traumatized and injured she made her way home and it was the following day that she told the story to some close friends of her who subsequently assisted her in reporting to police."

Cst. MacDonald says the young woman gave a description of the two South Asian men who assaulted her. "It's through her courage and bravery that we've been able to work with her to put together a couple of composite sketches that we've also released, and obviously to any witnesses who might have been in that area of Homeview, Pauline and Laurel streets in Abbotsford."

The victim reports the pair were talking Punjabi and driving a newer model, white pick up truck.
