Langley restaurant served alcohol to minors

Police say The Yummy House was operating without valid licensing

News1130 Staff Mar 12, 2010 00:58:48 AM
LANGLEY (NEWS1130) - Langley RCMP have busted the Yummy House Restaurant in the Alder Inn hotel for serving booze to kids.  While police were investigating the eatery for serving liquor to students, they also noted major health and licensing concerns. Corporal Holly Marks says the restaurant possessed neither a valid liquor nor business license. "We have re-attended once already to reaffirm they are not operating in contravention of any licensing."

Marks adds several sanctions have been placed against the restaurant and hotel, including a rare step. "They also have to issue a personal apology to the school for providing liquor to their students."

Marks says police are keeping an eagle eye on the place and have already checked to make sure the Yummy House Restaurant follows the imposed penalties. Marks adds it's rare for a restaurant to be caught serving under age customers and even rarer for it to be forced to make an apology.
