VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Five thousand performers are set to wow you at the opening ceremony for the Paralympic Games starting Friday at 6:00 p.m. at B.C. Place Stadium. Producer Patrick Roberge says they'll try to avoid any controversy about the mix of French and English in the show. "This show isn't about language, this show is about the athletes. This show is about the community coming together, the entire community."

Roberge also says he's not upset about early reports that CTV won't show the opening ceremony live. The network has since changed its mind and will be airing the it live in B.C. It will also show it Saturday just before sledge hockey because they want both programs to be a ratings success. "From what I understand they want to do it so they can put it right in front of the sledge hockey game. We know that sledge hockey is going to incredibly popular and they want as much viewer ship for the Opening Ceremonies as possible."
