Those who enjoy risky sports advised to check life insurance policy

Read the fine print

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - If you and your snowmobile were involved in a fatal avalanche, would your family benefit from your life insurance?  The Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association says it all depends what your policy's contract says as some policies will cover any kind of accident.

Frank Zinatelli with the Association says other policies ask questions like 'Do you take part in high risk activities, such as sky-diving, racing cars or extreme sports?'  "It depends on what the individual intended to purchase and the policy would be written to cover what ever risk they wanted covered."

Zinatelli says policies that ask questions about risky activities generally charge more for premiums.  He says to make sure you're covered for what ever you do, read over your policy very carefully and talk to your agent if you have any questions.
