VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - All good things must come to an end and we don't just mean winter. It's your last chance to take in the Paralympics. The good news is there are still tickets available for the final days, and some come at no cost.
It all wraps up on Sunday in Whistler with the outdoor Closing Ceremony which VANOC says will happen rain or shine. Unpredictable weather has carried over from the Olympics to remain an issue for organizers, as events that had been set aside for the last day of the games have been rescheduled for today and tomorrow due to heavy snow in the forecast, these include men's and women's Super G and men's and women's Super-Combined.
Tickets are still available for the alpine events. Another good bet is this afternoon's tie-break wheelchair curling match between Italy and Sweden which has a price tag of "free".
The make-or-break game became necessary after the two teams finished the
round robin portion of the tournament Thursday night with identical 5-4
records. Fans will be welcomed to the Vancouver Paralympic Centre at no
charge and on a first come first served basis.
The gates open
at 1:30 p.m, the match begins at 2:30 p.m. All seating is general admission
and thousands of seats are available. The winner of the tie-breaker will
advance to the wheelchair curling semi-final against Canada on
Saturday.
Seats for tomorrow's gold-medal sledge hockey game, once the
hottest ticket in town, are hitting the bargain bins because of
Canada's 3-1 upset loss to the Japanese (who now get to play the U.S. for the gold).
Instead, our squad plays Norway tonight for the bronze.
