VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Usually a "Dear John" letter isn't the best of news but this time Canada's Paralympic Committee only has nice things to say about John Furlong.
"It is not often in life that we encounter a man of vision such as yourself" reads the full-page thank you letter in the Vancouver Sun and Province.
Addressed to Furlong, VANOC staff, Four Host First Nations and the volunteers, the Canadian Paralympic Committee feels the commitment to their Games will create new opportunities for the physically disabled and is an important step towards equality.
The volunteers were also praised for their smiles, encouragement, tireless work and grace.
The letter continues: "You provided us with the opportuity to triumph in so many ways and we are so grateful."
