Vancouver has one of the most 'living roofs' on the continent

Only Chicago, New York and D.C. beat us

John Ackermann Apr 23, 2010 12:49:35 PM

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Vancouver is one of the leading cities on the continent when it comes to having green roofs.  According to "Green Roofs for Healthy Cities" -- only Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C. have more "living roofs" than we do.

Our high ranking is mostly thanks to the 2.4 hectare surface atop the Vancouver Convention Centre -- the largest in Canada.

Other local "green roofs" can be found at the main branch of the Vancouver Public Library as well as at the Millennium Water project along southeast False Creek.
