Your face could soon be seen at a Canada Line station near you

InTransit is personalizing one trains to help out local charities

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - You could see your own face the next time you're waiting for a Canada Line train. InTransit's Pixel Train will be covered in a mosaic of photos of faces of people who make donations. Janice Fairley with InTransit says you can buy three different sizes of pixels, and all proceeds will go to a group of children's charities. The more you donate, the larger your pixel will be. "A small one, which is 7x7cm is a $10 donation, or the medium size 14x14cm is a $100 donation, and a large one 21x21cm on a real Canada Line train will be a $500 donation."

If you're too shy, you can choose a portrait made by kids at B.C. Children's Hospital and upload that instead. "We've asked the kids to create some self portraits, which are so cute, and if people don't want to put their own picture up they can click on the portraits gallery and put that on the train."

But will you really be able to pick your face out on the train? "When you're standing on the platform and the train comes in, you're right beside it, so even with the small pixels, you're going to be able to see your face if you know where to look. There are going to be faces all over it."

The train should be rolling later this year. All donations will go to Arts Umbrella, B.C. Children's Hospital Foundation, Hope in Shadows and the YMCA of Greater Vancouver.
