Many want a white wedding, but are opting to go green

Sustainable Living Expo caters to all things eco-friendly

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Something old and something new. Something borrowed and something recycled, organic and eco-friendly, too.  Green weddings are one of the hottest trends in weddings this season.

Liliana Segal is CGO, Chief Green Officer, with Green Chair Events and says she helps a lot of couples plan a sustainable ceremony and reception.  "From dresses, to invitations, to food and even bees wax candles, there are better options," she says.

How about a vegan, organic, gluten-free and nut-free wedding cake? Or an organic wedding dress?

Don't worry. It won't be homespun hemp. Liliana says it's all about recycled material, organic silk and other fine fabrics.  "They are gorgeous! They are so stylish, these dresses. You will never say that it's something  that looks raw. They are absolutely stunning," says Liliana.

Check out the Green Wedding Showcase at the EP!C Sustainable Living Expo, today through Sunday at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
