VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - The UFC will make its Vancouver debut Saturday at GM Place, and fans in attendance will be under tight beer buying restrictions. GM Place has decided to limit customers to buy one beer at a time.
UFC 115 starts at 4:20 on Saturday, but beer vendors at GM Place will be under the restrictions. The arena has made the decision to limit customers because of the "high energy of the event".
Harvey Jones of GM Place says they consulted with Vancouver Police and decided the one beer limit was best for the safety of the fans. "For every event we have in the building we consult with the Vancouver Police and the liquor board and we look at the characteristics of the event and we determine what is the most appropriate plan for managing alcohol consumption, so this is no different then any other event."
