VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - The scenery is pristine, and on a hot sunny day Vancouver beaches can be the best place to beat the heat. But now the city has another reason to be proud of its beaches: a top ten mention in the best beach cities of the world.
According to National Geographic, Vancouver ranks number 10. Barcelona is number one, Cape Town is number two.
The magazine describes Vancouver as "Canada's most adventurous metropolis, home to ten beaches from the family-centric Jericho, to the clothing-optional Wreck.
Are Vancouverites surprised? "It's really beautiful. We have mountains. Our beaches are really clean. We're respectful of our environment. We put our garbage away all the time," say April and Carolyn, out enjoying the beach on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon.
