VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - A busy B.C. Day long weekend may have just a little more jump to it this year. Thousands of the world's top statisticians will be letting loose in Vancouver.
They may not have fez's and tiny motorbikes, but these guys can throw a wild and crazy convention with the best of them. Up to 5,500 statisticians are here for the 2010 Joint Statistical Meeting at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
After scintillating sessions like "Predicting the Present", "Analysis of Global Warming Data" and "The Philosophy and Intent of Stability Shelf Life", the number crunchers will be tossing the pocket protectors and cutting loose in the City.
So News1130 has been on the street asking what the odds are of you hooking up with one. Lucy says they're low. "A statistician would be a lot smarter than me, that's for sure. I'm not sure how much personality they have so we'd have to see how they go."
