Back to school spells commuter trouble

People asked to note route changes and slow down

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - It could be an even slower commute for drivers on Highway 1 as back to school trips meet Gateway construction.

Pam Ryan with the Port Mann-Highway 1 Project says they're trying to remind people of the speed reductions and overpass changes. "Early September is a busy time, regardless of whether there's a construction project underway. We really work hard to ensure that there are no delays during the day.  We have nighttime lane closures that take place generally between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. on weeknights.  So for the most part the work that we're doing is not having an impact on traffic."

Keep in mind, you can't get onto highway 1 westbound from 110th in Surrey anymore and Willingdon traffic north and south will take the same exit under the overpass.
