A new twist to French toast

WHISTLER (NEWS1130) - Sure, she's a renowned chef from a high-end restaurant in Whistler, but she's also a grilled cheese champion!

Melissa Craig can add most gooey, grilled cheese in Canada to her resumé, after topping the category at the Grate Canadian Grilled Cheese Cook-off a couple weeks back.  "I did a French toast with a Canadian Camembert and it melted.  It was gooier than the rest."

French toast morphed into a fine Camembert grilled cheese, it tickled the fancy of some fancy foodie judges.

She says the grilled cheese is a likely staple for all Canadians, adding "everyone grew up on it."  Chef Melissa's day job is at the Bearfoot Bistro in Whistler and she's unsure if the tasty sandwich will make it on the menu.
