MAPLE RIDGE (NEWS1130) - Investigators are dealing with a suspicious death in Maple Ridge, but can't confirm if the case is a homicide.

A 27-year-old woman from the Maple Ridge area has been found at a motel/ trailer park along Lougheed Highway near 216th early this morning. The RCMP say they are treating the area as a possible crime scene after "some suspicious circumstances" were identified. And the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is now conducting the investigation.

Mounties will work with a forensic pathologist and commit to toxicology tests to determine if foul play was involved. They say an autopsy will be scheduled as early as Tuesday.

Investigators will be speaking with people in the area to see if they noticed anything suspicious happen.

At this point it's not known if the victim had any links to gangs, drugs or organized crime.
