SURREY (NEWS1130) - The Surrey Transfer Station will be closed for the day while experts try to find the source of some toxic fumes. Crews got a call after reports that nine people were experiencing scratchy throats, nausea and headaches.
Battalion Chief Lorne West says employees were moving garbage around when they began experiencing the symptoms. Firefighters searched the building and weren't able to find the source.
Everyone was cleared at the scene and sent home.
