NASSAU, BS (NEWS1130) - Tennis player Rebecca Marino defeated Heather Watson 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 in the quarter finals at the ITF Bahamas Challenger. Seeded fourth, Marino meets fifth seed Angelique Kerber of Germany.

Marino broke her opponents' serve three times in the match. This is the third time this season, the 20-year-old has advanced to the semi-finals.

The Magee graduate is the 63rd ranked player in the world, while her opponent tomorrow, Kerber is number 67 on the WTA rankings.

Marino advanced to her first championship final in Memphis a month ago, but had to retire because of an abdominal injury. This is the second tournament she has played since suffering the injury.
