Thousands of cars will be lined up at the border this long weekend to score some deals south of the line. US Customs and Border Protection tells us peak hours are between 7 a.m. and late afternoon.

The Highway in Coquitlam was shut down due to an accident between Pitt River and Colony Farm Roads. All traffic was detoured.

The City is working on upgrading its centralized traffic system to make sure you know when and where traffic lights are out. It will be able to process data and relay information faster.

The exit to 152nd Street on Hwy 1 has been moved back to the right-hand side. For the past three months the exit was on the left during construction. Delays are expected during the afternoon drive.

Border waits have eased off, but for the early part the day they were longer than two hours. Motorists not having their passport or Nexus cards slowed things down considerably.

With it being the last weekend of Spring Break for most families, the border will be extra busy. To avoid line-ups, you should try travelling outside of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Work delayed after Port Mann crane collapse

Construction has been delayed on the Coquitlam side of the Port Mann Bridge after 90-tonnes of pre-formed concrete fell into the Fraser River last week. No one was hurt.
