NDP calls for snowmobile regulations

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Adrenaline junkies and thrill seekers are among those drawn to the wild, unregulated world of snowmobiling. But after dozens of deaths in recent years, BC’s NDP Public Safety critic says, enough is enough.
Mike Farnworth tells the Province newspaper, the costs are too high, and it’s time to bring is some rules. Currently snowmobilers in B.C. don’t have to take any safety courses, have a license, wear a helmet or respect avalanche warnings.
