Shoppers face major delays at the border

By

Cross-border shopping appears to be all the rage this holiday weekend.  With the sagging U.S. economy and our soaring dollar, there are deals to be had south of the border.  With those deals, however, comes a traffic backlog at most border crossings.

As of noon Saturday, it was taking two hours to get over the Thousand Islands Bridge and the Lewiston Bridge.  While these are the bridges with the longest lines, most border crossings across the country are experiencing substantial delays.

No delays were reported at Massena.
