Top 10 travel destinations for 2012

PORT MOODY (NEWS1130) – As we welcome a New Year, you may want to think about where you’ll take your next vacation.  According to the folks at Expedia Cruise Ship Centres, the Amazon is the number one place to go in 2012, that’s followed by the Mediterranean, Australia and the South Pacific.

The company’s Steve Arychuk says the list reflects exactly where British Columbians like to travel.

“We’re usually going to warm places, but we’re also quite adventurous.  When you have some of these unique destinations in Cambodia or Vietnam, those are the things that West Coast residents are really interested in.”

He adds London is also a hot-spot because of the Summer Olympics and the Queen’s Jubilee celebration.

“With everything going on in the world leisure travel is still something that people don’t like to take off their to-do list.  It’s very encouraging that people are always going out.”

Arychuk explains river-cruising for the rest of Europe is already selling out for 2013.
