Roads safer thanks to commercial truck inspections: Delta Police

By

DELTA (NEWS1130) – Delta Police think roads are a little safer thanks to a number of commercial truck inspections over the years.  In fact, they’ll be doing another blitz Wednesday, pulling over several trucks.

There are around 75 people taking part in this and they’ll be looking for mechanical defects, load securing, all different things that have to do with the large commercial vehicles according to Acting Sergeant Lisa Coupar.

She says truckers and their employers are now more aware of the dangers they can pose

“They are inquiring with various police departments and they consult with them and ask them how to better their vehicles, properly maintain them, what kinds of loads they should be carrying.”

The trucks will either receive a “pass” a “violation” or they will be issued “out of service.”
