VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – If you thought the infamous $100,000 seven-foot White Poodle statue on Main Street at 17th Avenue was a waste of transit dollars, you’re not going to like this.

CTV News reports a $165,000 art installation is planned for Main Street SkyTrain station, just down the street from the large dog, where upgrades are due to be finished next year.

The money for the mystery artwork will be split between the federal government and transit authority. The design has yet to be unveiled.

TransLink has recently come under fire for spending money on art when it’s taking steps to cut costs in an effort to stick to it’s already-stretched budget, including the cancellation of the employee pass program.
