Crown, defence agree Le should get 12 years for Surrey Six conspiracy

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Crown and defence both say a man in the Surrey Six case should be sentenced to 12 years. With time served, he would be out of prison in just over three years.

Michael Le is being sentenced for conspiracy to commit murder. He had pleaded guilty to that charge last month, weeks into the trial.

Just before the sentencing began, court confirmed there is a publication ban on some of the details.

The Surrey Six trial is expected to continue in the new year for two other accused: Cody Haevischer and Matthew Johnston. They have been charged after six people were killed in a Surrey high-rise in 2007.
