UFO religion backs idea of free and independent Cascadia

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – From time to time, the campaign for a free and independent Cascadia gets a push in the mainstream media — this isn’t one of those times.

The idea of BC, Washington and Oregon forming a separate state is getting support from an unexpected source: The world’s largest UFO religion.

You might remember the Raëlians from such popular news stories as Clonaid and topless freedom.

The group believes life on Earth was scientifically created by extraterrestrials. It also believes life would be much more peaceful, democratic, and non-violent if it was made up of a multitude of small, independent states each built by people united by the same culture, language, or religion.

Raëlian spokesman David Dunsmore says an independent Cascadia fits into that idea very nicely. “It allows for humanity to become potentially more peaceful and harmonious because the dangers of smaller countries having large military to go to war with each other — they don’t have the means to do that.”

They support the separation of Quebec, so the break-away of BC, Washington and Orgeon to form Cascadia makes sense, too.

“There’s no reason why they couldn’t separate and have the whole west coast. It’s a brilliant idea, in my opinion. I think it can be an interesting, productive place where people live and flourish,” says Dunsmore.

It could also be the perfect place to build the Raëlian Embassy for Extraterrestrials, complete with a landing pad.
