Police investigate homicide in Richmond apartment

RICHMOND (NEWS1130) – Homicide investigators have taped off an apartment in Richmond.

Just before 2 p.m., Mounties were called to an apartment on Granville Avenue in Richmond, where they found the body of a woman.

Investigators will be at scene all night, and preliminary information suggests a male in custody knew the victim and it appears to be a domestic violence situation. He will appear in court tomorrow.

“We are in the very early stages of this investigation and we are working to establish what happened inside the apartment. We are asking anyone that may have heard anything or has other information to contact the IHIT Tipline.” says Cpl. Dominic Duchesneau.
