SURREY (NEWS1130) – A dedicated tip line is being set up in the hope people will give investigators information about the 22 recent shootings in Surrey and Delta.
The move comes as police continue to have problems making arrests.
Police are not confirming whether any arrests or gun seizures have taken place as a result of this violence but insist they are taking concern from the public seriously.
RCMP Assistant Commissioner Dan Malo says some of those suspected of involvement are now being watched closely.
“The ability for them to move around openly like other citizens can is now off for them. Every police officer through the real time intelligence centre is given information on every one of those people.”
“For every shots fired complaint there is a story behind it. No longer in policing, and this has changed several years ago, do we just record a shots fired complaint. We attend every shots fired complaint,” he adds.
If you have information related to these recent shootings, you are asked to call 604 915 6566.
