Some evacuations as Lytton wildfire grows quickly

LYTTON (NEWS 1130) -A wildfire is quickly spreading and growing near Lytton.
It was first reported early in the afternoon but has already grown to 700 hectares. The fire is on the west side of the Fraser River.
“There are two helicopters on sight with an additional helicopter on the way. There’s a 22 firefighters currently responding as well as another 20 packed unit crews on the way. The challenge right now is the fire behaviour is very aggressive,” says Fire Information Officer Kelsey Winter.
She adds winds are gusting up to 60 km/h out of the south which is posing a lot of challenges for crews.
Winter says it’s far too early to know what caused the fire.
There are buildings nearby and there are a few evacuations.
