Human remains found in Whistler

WHISTLER (NEWS 1130) – Investigators are trying to figure out how some human remains ended up at an industrial complex in Whistler.

Mounties got a call from a neighbour on Wednesday evening who found, what appear to be, remains. However, due to the state of decomposition, details like the person’s identity, gender and the cause of death are unknown right now.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is on scene and will have the area blocked off to the public until their investigation is complete.

“Our priority at this stage is to identify the individual and notify family members.  An autopsy will be required to piece together some important information and help shed some light on the circumstances leading to this individual’s death,” says Sergeant Stephanie Ashton.

It’s also unclear if foul play is a factor.
