In search for ‘prince charming,’ Luka Magnotta joins dating site for prisoners

OTTAWA – (NEWS 1130) – Single? Loyal? Emotionally stable? You just might be Luka Rocco Magnotta’s “prince charming.”

The convicted killer, whose crimes made headlines around the world, has joined a matchmaking website for inmates.

Magnotta’s profile is on Canadian Inmates Connect Inc., a website that tries to hook up lonesome convicts, some behind bars for violent offences like first-degree murder, with potential companions on the outside.

Magnotta says he’s looking to meet a single white male, 28 to 38 years old, who is in his own words a “prince charming” who is “loyal, preferably educated, financially and emotionally stable.”

Magnotta, a former stripper and prostitute, was convicted in December of first-degree murder for the 2012 Montreal killing and dismemberment of university student Jun Lin.

Melissa Fazzina, who created the site about four and half years ago, says Magnotta’s application and $35 fee arrived via regular mail about 10 days ago.

Fazzina, whose site has made her a public advocate for prisoners looking for a second chance, says she believes everybody deserves the opportunity to redeem themselves.
