Support for Conservatives in 13 battleground ridings is dropping

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The Tories are losing steam in 13 ridings predicted to be tight affairs come the federal election, according to a new survey.

“We’ve seen some interesting numbers,” says election campaign manager Amara Possian with Leadnow, a left-leaning group which financed the survey through crowd funding. “The general trend is that Conservative support is going down in every single riding where we’ve polled.”

Three local Tory ridings could be vulnerable, says Possian.

“In Port Moody-Coquitlam, the NDP is leading by quite a bit, and in Vancouver-Granville, the NDP is leading, with the Conservatives in close second and the Liberals in third,” says Possian.

The biggest shift sees 49 percent of people in Port Moody-Coquitlam saying they’ll vote NDP.

The Liberals are in front in West Vancouver-Sunshine Coast with 29 percent support.

As for Vancouver Granville, the NDP has a narrow 6 percent lead.
