BACK TO SCHOOL: How to get kids ready in the morning

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – It’s not always easy getting your kids and yourself ready in the mornings.

In part two of NEWS 1130‘s five-part “Back To School” series we are learning about the SUPER system that can make things a little smoother.

Elaine Tan-Comeau is a mom, teacher and founder of Easy Daysies, an organizational tool for kids.

She has created the SUPER system to help everyone during the school year.

The system starts with “S”, Start right now. She says that means starting kids on a bedtime routine and waking them up early so they get used to it.

As for “U”, You should be getting up earlier than the kids to get ready, stress-free before they are up.

“P” is for prepping the night before. Tan Comeau says that means getting lunches packed and laying clothes out.

“E” is for easy access breakfast. She suggests leaving cereal on a lower counter that kids can get to themselves.

Finally, “R” is for routine. Tan-Comeau says kids cooperate better when they know what’s coming next and you can have a SUPER morning.
